Now I am a fan of World of Warcraft, I play a lot, probably more than I should, but I have never gotten violent over it. A 27-year-old Florida man did feel like he should get violent over this game though.
James Swan was playing World of Warcraft around 10 p.m. in Manatee County, Florida last night. He was playing the video game in a room shared by several small children. Swan was being very loud in the room and was also intoxicated while he was playing.
When Swan’s mother asked him to stop playing the video game several times Swan threw her onto the bed and began to strangle her. She escape and ran to the kitchen where she tried to call the police from the phone, Swan ripped the phone off of the wall.
Swan’s grandfather, who also lived in the house, attempted to stop the altercation with a handgun. There was a struggle for the handgun and Swan was shot in the head (he lived though). Medical personnel found the entry wound, but no exit wound.
So for all of you WoW Nerds out there (like me), be nice to your mom, even if you are in the middle of a raid.
